The honest verdict
Choose 18Birdies if you want GPS yardage and a social feed, and you primarily use a golf app to track your score and post your round to friends.
Choose GolfStack if you want to actually understand your game — what is driving your score, where your mental game is leaking strokes, and what to focus on next round. The AI coaching narrative and Consistency Score are what most amateurs are actually looking for when they say "I want to get better."
FAQ
Can I import my 18Birdies history?
Yes. Export your round history from 18Birdies as a CSV and email it to hello@stack.golf. We will import it within 48 hours so your stats start populated.
Does GolfStack have live GPS yardage?
Not yet on the free tier. Live GPS during a round is on the Pro roadmap and is the most-requested feature. Until then, the Open-Meteo weather integration plus our course-database hole pars cover most pre-shot planning.
Is GolfStack more expensive than 18Birdies?
No. Pro is $4.99/mo or $39/yr, compared to about $80/yr for 18Birdies Premium. Free tier is generous and ad-free on both, but our paid tier is roughly half the price.
